Blue Coleman Info:
The Blue Coleman cooler is quite a rare sight. We love how well cared for this cooler was. Has a slight crack in the base cover on the outside only. The insulated interior is crack free and in great usable condition. Latch still hooks the lid down and there are some dents and surface wear as to be expected with this retro classic. Each Coleman product has the year of production usually formed into the bottom.
Measures - 22.5" L X 14" D X 15.5" H
Red Coleman Info:
This red Coleman cooler is quite a fun find! The latch doesn't fully reach the lip and there is some warping to the top of the cooler as seen in the photos. This piece is priced accordingly. The interior is still in very good condition and can still be used to store cold items for a backyard hang out etc.
We love the brilliant red color it has along with its vintage look, featuring a metal latch and plastic adjusting slidable side handles. Use this to store cold drinks or having guests over, or even use it has a focal point in a room. We also imagine it being a fun toy chest or a place to store towels or blankets. It could be a beautiful and fun decoration with a pop of color! Each Coleman product has the year of production usually formed into the bottom. This one was made in April of 1983.
The outside has some normal ware which is expected with vintage items, but it will provide a fun rustic look for your space.
Measures - 22.5" L x 14" D x 15 7/8" H
The first Coleman cooler was invented in 1954 by an Illinois farmer named Richard C. Laramy. He had been using an insulated metal milk can to keep his food and drinks cool while out in the fields, but it was heavy and difficult to transport. Laramy came up with the idea of using lightweight, durable plastic to create a new kind of cooler that would be easier to handle and more practical for outdoor use.
The new cooler was an instant hit, and in 1957, the Coleman Company acquired the rights to produce and sell Laramy's invention. The first Coleman-branded cooler was the "Steel Belted Cooler," introduced in 1958. It was made with a durable steel exterior and had a capacity of 22 quarts.
Over the years, Coleman continued to innovate and improve their cooler designs. They introduced new features like cup holders, built-in wheels, and telescoping handles for easy transportation. They also expanded their product line to include a range of sizes and styles, from small personal coolers to large ice chests that could hold up to 150 quarts.
