Originally designed by the German artist Fritz Nagel in the 1960s. These candle holders were part of a larger collection of table and wall accessories created by Nagel, which were known for their minimalist, geometric designs and high-quality materials.
The Nagel's Brass midcentury articulating candle holders were made from solid brass and featured a unique, articulating design that allowed the user to adjust the height and angle of the candles. The candle holders were designed to be both functional and decorative, and were intended to be used as part of a larger set of Nagel accessories, including wall sculptures, candlesticks, and other decorative objects.
The Nagel candle holders became very popular during the midcentury modern design movement, which celebrated the sleek, minimalist aesthetic of the era. They were highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts, and are now considered iconic pieces of midcentury design.
Today, the Nagel's Brass midcentury articulating candle holders continue to be highly valued by collectors and design enthusiasts. They are often displayed as part of a larger collection of midcentury modern accessories, or used as a decorative accent in modern interiors.
