We absolutely love this sizable and incredibly detailed hand carved wood elephant. We love the incredible craftsmanship on these pieces and they make the coolest decor on any surface. This piece has some slight surface wear to be expected with a vintage item. Part of one tusk has broken off slightly but it adds more character as elephants can chip their tusks in the wild as well.

Measures - 15" L X 5.75" W X 12" H (from top of trunk to bottom of front leg

In Asia and Africa, elephants were revered as symbols of power, wisdom, and good luck. Various cultures often used elephant motifs in their art and furniture, including lamps.

In India, the art of wood carving has been practiced for centuries, and elephants have been a popular subject for carvers. Indian craftsmen created intricate designs using chisels, knives, and other tools.

Similarly, in Africa, elephants have been an important part of the culture and art of many tribes for centuries.
